The town of El Calafate is located in the Argentine Republic in the southern point of Latin America. You can get to this town by the following means of transport:
By plane: the most direct way to get to El Calafate is by plane up to the airport located 18 kilometers east away. Most of the planes depart from the airport in the city of Buenos Aires called Jorge Newbery.
Connecting journey by plane and by car or bus: another choice is to get to the airport of Rio Gallegos city and then get on a bus for four hours by Provincial Route N° 5.
By bus or car: You can get by bus or car up to Rio Gallegos city by National Route N° 3 and there take Provincial Route N° 5 up to El Calafate.
